Ancelotti – Why Barcelona are 12 points clear of Real Madrid
Carlo Ancelotti, the manager of Real Madrid, has acknowledged that Barcelona has displayed greater consistency this year than his team.
Following a 2-1 loss on Sunday at the Camp Nou, Ancelotti made these remarks.
With the win, the Catalans extended their lead atop the LaLiga standings to 12 points.
Ronald Araujo’s own-goal header off a cross from Vinicius Jr. gave Real the early advantage.
Before Franck Kessie scored an injury-time winner for Barcelona, Barcelona was tied at halftime thanks to Sergi Roberto.
Ancelotti’s response, when asked why Real Madrid is trailing in the title race, was, “It’s simple, they’ve been more consistent than us this season.
“Our January let us down a lot, just after the World Cup. Now, we are doing well and I think we’ll finish the season well.
“We are now further behind than we were before the game, but we will give our all in every game over the rest of the season.”
