Cristiano Ronaldo and Manchester United have been in the news for the past couple of days following his interview with Piers Morgan.
Ronaldo has responded to the termination of his contract which was announced on the official website of the club. Manchester United confirmed the termination of Ronaldo’s contract in an official statement on the club’s website on Tuesday, November 22nd, 2022.
He said;
Following talks with Manchester United, we’ve mutually agreed to end our contract. I love Manchester United and I love the fans, that will never ever change. It feels like the right time to seek a new challenge. I wish Manchester Utd all the best.
The Red Devils had earlier announced since the full interview was released on the internet that it will take a decision after consulting with the right parties.
Ronaldo accused Manchester United of betrayal after he believed some of the top managers were trying to kick him out of the club. He also accused the manager, Erik Ten Hag of not showing him enough respect, he sited the game against Tottenham as a reference.
This decision means Ronaldo will be a free agent by the time the January transfer window opens.
