EPL: Haaland to become first £500,000-a-week player
Erling Haaland will soon receive an incredible new contract from Manchester City.
The 22-year-old has already scored 42 goals for the Premier League champions in his first season.
Real Madrid has been linked to him due to his performance, and they are thought to be interested in signing him in the summer of 2024.
But according to The UK Sun, City and the Norwegian striker will meet to discuss a new contract at the end of this campaign.
Haaland will earn £500,000 per week under the new contract, making him the highest-paid player in the Premier League.
In order to keep Haaland’s services despite Real Madrid’s interest, Man City will extend Haaland’s current contract by one year.
The player currently makes £375,000 per week, which puts him on par with teammate Kevin De Bruyne and Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea as the highest-paid stars in the Premier League.
