Euro 2024 qualifiers: Erling Haaland withdraws from Norway squad
Erling Haaland has injured his groin and has been forced out of the Norway squad for the Euro 2024 qualifiers.
Haaland, who entered the break with eight goals in two Man City games against RB Leipzig and Burnley, respectively, reunited with his international teammates this week.
The 21-year-old has been given permission to return to Manchester City for additional treatment, though, following additional examinations.
Haaland won’t play in Norway’s upcoming matches against Spain and Georgia as a result.
According to a statement from the Norwegian FA, Haaland sustained the injury during Ma City’s 6-0 FA Cup win over Burnley on Sunday.
Norway manager, Stale Solbakken, said: “Erling took it hard when he realized that he could not fight for the team.
“Fortunately, there is still plenty of self-confidence, talent and cohesion in this group to win points in the next matches.”
