Ilkay Gundogan explains how he scored his brilliant goal
Manchester City midfield gives insight into his well-executed finish against Everton.

The Cityzens’ victory over Everton featured two goals from Ilkay Gundogan of Manchester City. The German midfielder described how he scored his stunning first goal.
By defeating Everton 3-0 at Goodison Park thanks to his two goals and a header from Erling Haaland, City increased their advantage over Arsenal to four points.

After a challenging half-hour, the ex-Borussia Dortmund midfielder gave Pep’s team the lead before assisting Erling Haaland to make it 2-0.
The captain of Manchester City completed the scoring with a powerful free kick in the 51st minute to give the visitors a convincing victory.
Gundogan’s words.
When questioned about how the brilliant strike in the 37th minute came about, he said it was instinct.
Gundogan credited the Norwegian striker Haaland for keeping Everton’s defenders busy in order to execute his strike, which was a demonstration of close control and flawless finishing.
“It was instinct,” he said, per the BBC.
“It helped me a lot that Erling could distract both centre-backs. I saw the space created and tried to make the run. I was waiting for Riyad’s ball.
“Even though it was at the back of my run it came quite well for me to take a touch. Everything after was instinct. I didn’t see any other option, I just tried to go for goal. It went well.”
