It’s bad business – Paul Merson warns Chelsea against selling best player
Owner of Chelsea “Todd Boehly” has been warned not to sell midfielder Mason Mount by Arsenal legend Paul Merson.
The England international, in Merson’s opinion, has been Chelsea’s best player in recent years and was outstanding in 2016.
In the opinion of the former England winger, it would be “bad business” to let Mount, who went through the club’s youth program, sign with a Premier League rival.
During the previous four seasons, the Three Lions midfielder solidified his position as a pillar for the Blues.
The player came up through the West London club’s youth program and has made 192 appearances, contributing to their Champions League victory under Thomas Tuchel.
“Mason Mount was by far Chelsea’s best player last season. He was outstanding,” Merson told Sky Sports.
