Chelsea FC’s midfielder Jorginho has been at the center of transfer talks, one of which his agent Joao Santos has come to clarify about a move to Barcelona.
With a few months left on his contract at Chelsea FC, Italian midfielder Jorginho has been at the center of transfer talks and speculation following reports that the player had reached a pre-contract agreement with Barcelona to join them on a free transfer.
This report had prompted his agent, Joao Santos, to come out and clarify that the player is, in fact, not interested in holding contract talks with anyone that is not Chelsea. Joao Santos also revealed that he has not even met the Barcelona director Mateu Alemany.
Joao Santos revealed:
I’ve never met with Barça director Mateu Alemany. We want to extend the contract with Chelsea, and it’s our priority. We only had conversations about Jorginho with Chelsea — no other clubs
Jorginho and N’Golo Kante would be out of a contract at Chelsea by June 2023, and they are arguably two of the biggest names that would be on the transfer market at that time. The Blues are in a race against time to extend their contracts and keep them at the club.
