France forward Kylian Mbappe has reacted to the win of the North African side Morocco over former world cup champions Spain in the knockout stages of the FIFA World Cup 2022.
Morocco secured a victory over Spain through penalties to become the only African country to progress to the quarter-finals of the competition. It also became the first time Morocco would progress to the quarter-finals of the world cup in football history.
Mbappe reacted to this historic moment because his fellow teammate at the club level (PSG), Achraf Hakimi, plays for the national team of Morocco. Hakimi scored the final spot-kick panenka style to secure a victory for Morocco after Spain had missed three penalties.
Mbappe shared a post that gave a shoutout to his teammate Hakimi.
