Due to a dispute over contract registration, Barcelona midfielder Gavi has lost his place in the first team.
Now, the player would have to forfeit his No. 6 shirt.
After agreeing to new terms in September, the midfielder, now 18 years old, received the storied team number.
However, La Liga is preventing the registration of a new contract because Barca’s financial situation is still dire.

Gavi must therefore continue to be listed in the club’s Juvenil A records for the time being.
This was confirmed by La Liga when they updated Barcelona’s roster on their official website.
Gavi will resume being No.30 When he broke through at Barca as a senior, he donned the number 30 jersey.
