Chelsea fans will hope that the third time is the charm in the 2022-23 Champions League as they welcome AC Milan to Stamford Bridge for Wednesday’s Group E showdown.
Graham Potter‘s side sit dead last in the section after two matches without a win, while the Rossoneri have taken four points from six to occupy first place.

- Graham Potter has gone with a back four for both of his first games at Chelsea, so expect the same here.
- Conor Gallagher could start here after scoring the winner against his former club Crystal Palace, as well as Christian Pulisic who set up the winner.
- N’Golo Kante and Edouard Mendy have trained this week but only the latter will make the matchday squad.
- A throat infection kept Marc Cucurella out at the weekend but he has since trained. Kai Havertz will need assessment for a minor injury along with Jorginho.
- Stefano Pioli has a very injury-hit side on their trip to Stamford Bridge. He will be without Mike Miagnan, Theo Hernandez, Divock Origi, Alessandro Florenzi and veteran forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
- Three more players, Davide Calabria, Alexis Saelemaekers and Simon Kjaer came off injured on the weekend, and could miss the fixture.
- Ante Rebic came off the bench to score against Empoli, and should start with the amount of injuries AC Milan have.
