PSG set to axe ‘overweight’ star
Another star who is rumored to be leaving Paris Saint-Germain at the end of the season could signal the start of a summer purge.

After the Italian’s performance this season caused the Ligue 1 team Paris Saint-Germain numerous issues, the club is prepared to approve Verratti’s summer departure.
Marco Verratti is not liked by PSG.
Verratti has been a member of the Paris club for 11 years and has consistently delivered strong performances, with the exception of this season, when the Italian showed some uncharacteristic behaviors and seemed disenchanted with life at Les Parisiens.

The issue between PSG and the former Pescara midfielder seems to revolve around his unexpected weight gain after the club resumed play following the midseason break for the 2022 FIFA World Cup, in which Verratti was not involved because Italy did not qualify.
After 11 years at the club, Verratti is expected to be one of the PSG team’s leaders.
Verratti may leave PSG.
One of the most well-known and highest-paid players at the club, his transgressions are reportedly especially grievous to the PSG hierarchy, who may decide to release the Italian midfielder this summer.

Verratti’s PSG performances this year have also drawn criticism, with many claiming that the midfielder has fallen short of his high expectations by one or two notches.
Verratti, a member of the Italy national team, has also been mentioned as a potential exit candidate due to his discontent with the current PSG situation. Verratti is rumored to be upset about how Lionel Messi and Neymar are being treated.
Verratti and PSG may decide to part ways despite the midfielder’s contract expiring in 2026 because neither party appears to be interested in pursuing their relationship any further.
Although no clubs have expressed interest in signing Verratti, a move in the summer cannot be completely ruled out.
