The Chelsea man wrote his name in the history book of the FIFA World Cup as he became the oldest player to assist a goal in the competition since 1966. Silva achieved this feat in the Round of 16 clash against South Korea where he created an assist for Richarlison. The goal was Richarlison’s third World Cup goal and his 20th for Brazil in all competitions.

He achieved this feat at 38 years and 74 days overtaking Roger Milla’s record at the 1990 FIFA World Cup who created an assist at the age of 38 years and 42 days.
