Report: Gabriel Slonina Will Train With Chelsea This Week
Chelsea signed Gabriel Slonina from the Chicago Fire this summer and loaned him back to the club to continue his development. The club sees Slonina as a future keeper and felt a loan back to Chicago was best given the two keepers ahead of him right now.
The American goalkeeper, on the other hand, is scheduled to leave tomorrow for a two-day training session with Chelsea.

Chelsea signed Gabriel Slonina from Chicago Fire
Because the MLS season is over, Slonina is now effectively a Chelsea player.
According to Chris Smith, Gabriel Slonina will depart from the USA to England tomorrow in order to train with his new club. Chelsea purchased Slonina in the summer from Chicago Fire, but he is seen as a player for the future.
The American goalkeeper will stay for 10-15 days to get to know his new teammates before returning to the United States to prepare for the upcoming World Cup.
Slonina will face some of his Chelsea teammates when the USA takes on England in the group stage, assuming he is named first choice in goal.
The ball is in Chelsea’s court in regards to loaning Slonina back to Chicago Fire, and a decision is expected to be made on that situation either during or after the World Cup.
